4th Purchase of the year, steady growth continues at NASC

03.12.2018

Lugano, Switzerland (March 12th, 2018) - Nova Algoma Shortsea Carriers continues expansion of their fleet, acquiring another bulk carrier. Delivered on the 25th of January, the 108.21 meter long, 18.48 meter wide and 8048 DWT bulk carrier is already the 4th purchase this year and cements NASC as a major player in the Mediterranean, Black Sea and Northern European markets.

Keeping with this momentum, the newly named Sider Monica has been quick to complete two voyages, with a third currently underway.

NASC is a joint-venture between Nova Marine Carriers, based in Lugano, Switzerland, and Algoma Central Corporation, based in St. Cathrines, Canada, that focuses both company’s strengths on the global short-sea dry-bulk shipping market. Created in April of last year, the 50/50 joint-venture continues to see growth.
